What does a CDI do?
A CDI unit is an electrical part of a scooter, this stands for capacitive discharge ignition unit. The cdi unit calculates when a signal must be passed on to the ignition coil that ensures that the spark plug ignites at the right time for combustion in the cylinder.
What other function does a CDI have?
With a 4-stroke scooter, mainly Chinese scooters, the cdi also has another function, namely regulating the speed, the cdi unit is linked to the sensor that is mounted at the clutch housing (with cam) which is based on the number of revolutions transmits a signal. You have different speeds from which you can choose your CDI, for example 25, 32, 35, 45 and unlimited, a CDI with remote control is of course also a possibility.
