Helmet obligation 2023

Since January 1, 2023, wearing a helmet on a scooter is mandatory. When you wear a helmet, you are less likely to suffer a head injury in an accident. On the moped scooter you can choose from a speed pedelec helmet or a regular helmet with ECE.05 or ECE.06 approval. Usually a normal helmet is chosen so that a moped can also be ridden.

Had an accident, now what?

If you have had an accident, it is advisable to replace a helmet, as it may be damaged invisibly. As a result, there is no longer good protection.

If your helmet is older than 5 years, it is also wise to replace it.

Drop your helmet?

You may not be able to see anything on the outside of the helmet, but the shell of the helmet may have absorbed the necessary vibrations during the fall. If you want to be protected as well as possible, it is wise to replace the helmet.
